InfiniBand may seem similar to SteelVine at first glance, but InfiniBand does not combine the signals over a standard serial cable. InfiniBand simply has more pins (and thus more wires running through the cable) so that all SATA cables are left in tact. Strictly speaking, there should be no difference between InfiniBand and four seperate eSATA cables. Because of very tight tolerances with so many electrical signals in such close proximity, poorly made InfiniBand cables can be a source of frustration, so choose your InfiniBand cables based on quality.
