The FireWire 800 storage system with ultimate flexibility
BayDock is the flexible storage system designed to store and retrieve data the way you've always wanted. It provides a powerful storage system allowing incredibly high transfer speeds and many configuration options. BayDock is available with one drive bays, with an individual FireWire 800 (400 compatible) bridge, and the trays are hot swappable. High performance storage BayDock 800 is available in configurations to 1 Terabyte. All configurations may be configured as soft RAIDs and provide extremely high performance storage. For example, we tested a dual BayDock 800 with two FireWire 800 bridges and documented a peak sustained transfer rate of 108MB/s on an Apple dual G5, using Mac OS X's RAID ability. Maximum connectivity BayDock's ATA-6 compatible Oxford OXUF922 FireWire bridges connect to any FireWire port without new drivers. Continual drive status monitoring You can get instant feedback on the health of your drives with an InfoTray™ which is standard for each bay. The front mounted LCD panel gives you at-a-glance configuration information, fan status, temperature of the drive, hours in use and access information. You can set an alarm for temperature overrun, and you'll be notified if the fan breaks. Each InfoTray is removable, so you can swap drives out for maintenance or to manage your huge drive collection. You can purchase extra InfoTrays (or basic trays, which do not have the LCD panel with heath status information). A piece of electronic art BayDock is constructed mostly from presentation grade anodized aluminum with black anodized inserts. It's stackable. It's flexible. It's beautiful. It's usable. It's yours! Plug and Play BayDock works right out of the box with no new drivers needed. It works with any modern operating system including Mac OS 9.1, 9.2, OS X and Windows 2K, XP, as well as any distribution of Linux that supports FireWire or USB. If using FireWire, additional FireWire devices can be daisy-chained through BayDock. |
